Meral Barlas

I was born in Pakistan and grew up in the Atlanta suburbs. After spending 8 years in DC for undergrad and med school, I’m super excited to be doing my EM residency in NYC! I'm really into music and play piano, guitar, and ukulele, and love a good concert. In my free time I love exploring the city, finding new restaurants and coffee shops, watching horror movies, and facetiming my dog.

Chanel Johnson

Born in Texas and raised on 90’s country, I somehow ended up trading cowboy boots for city scrubs:) I completed my medical school rotations in the Bronx and fell in love with the city!
Outside the hospital, you can find me in Central Park with my dog, wandering the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or getting lost in the stacks at the New York Public Library! The great loves of my life are my yellow Labrador Retriever Rhoady, my family, a good cup of coffee, film photography, fly fishing, hiking national parks, traveling, reading Nordic noirs (the darker, the better), skiing, and pretending I’m brave enough for Cirque du Soleil.
Within emergency medicine, I’m interested in wilderness and rural medicine, as well as global health and health literacy. I’m thrilled to call the South Bronx home for the next four years and excited to care for this incredible community!

Born and raised in Cali, Colombia (the salsa capital of the world). After visiting NYC for the first time in 2009, I started dreaming of moving to this city and eventually made it happen. Along the way, I studied medicine in Colombia, found my calling in EM and moved across countries. Outside the hospital you’ll probably find me dancing salsa caleña, hanging out with friends, trying new food, or petting any cat that crosses my path.

Jesus Rodriguez

Med School: New York Medical College

I went Iona University for undergrad then New York Medical College. I was born in Peru and lived there until I was 5. I came to Westchester county and have been here ever since. Outside of medicine, I’m into powerlifting and like to relax with some old-school video games. When I’m not lifting or gaming, I’m probably lost deep in some true crime documentary. I’m a big fan of a good BBQ-grilled steak, and nothing beats quality time with my family.

Born and raised in North Carolina and spent my life hopping around the major cities in NC. I’ve always dreamed of moving to NYC and am so excited my dream is finally coming true!
My hobbies include reading, watching hockey (Go Canes!!!), pilates, bad reality tv shows, traveling, trying new things, eating and spending time with family and friends.
My medical interests include global health, women’s health advocacy and ultrasound. So excited to join the Lincoln fam!!

My name is Alex, I am a Brooklyn native. In my free time, I enjoy playing handball or any other paddle sport. Also love coming up with something new to cook or grill. I went out to Long Island to get my biochemistry degree at Stony Brook University before going to medical school at New York Medical College in Westchester, NY.

Grew up bouncing between New Jersey, Manhattan, and Riverdale. After spending the last decade in Dallas, I couldn’t be happier to be back home. Ideal night off is catching live music; ideal day off is spent in the woods (when I’m not sidelined by ski or bike mishaps).
